Learn more about Zair and his experience, passions, and so on...

I am a highly technical and creative Senior Technical Writer with over six years of specialized experience developing comprehensive, clear, and impactful technical documentation. My career blends deep technical expertise with a passion for design thinking, the democratization of technology, and creating documentation that empowers users to succeed.

I graduated in 2015 on the Dean’s List with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Engineering Graphics and Design from the Illinois Institute of Technology. My coursework included Computer Science, Design Thinking, Business Systems, Entrepreneurship, Statics and Probability, Financial Modeling, Marketing Ops, and Predictive Analytics. While in school, I developed a strong passion for Design Thinking and the democratization of technology. I explored emerging tech concepts like IoT, machine learning, and no-code/low-code tools, even building my first no-code mobile app during this time.

After graduating, I worked two jobs: troubleshooting devices, network connections, and data retention, and teaching mathematics up to Calculus II. I was soon promoted to Math Director, where I managed my first team of 16 instructors, oversaw financials, set strategy, and ran the business end-to-end. During this period, I earned a post-graduate certification in Data Science for Business, working with tools like IBM Watson, Microsoft Azure, AWS, R, and RStudio to clean data, perform statistical analysis, train models, and execute machine learning workflows.

In 2018, I became a Credit Analyst, applying my mathematical and statistical skills to assess loan applications and manage financial risk. I was promoted to Consumer Lending Manager, leading a team of Loan Processors that broke institutional records. I also led major tech initiatives, served as the point person for technology projects, documented all technical internal information, and made it accessible to technical and non-technical audiences alike.

After that role, I transitioned into technical writing full-time, completing a technical writing certification and an intensive six-month mentorship. I learned to create deliverables like product overviews, technical specifications, concept guides, REST API docs, software architecture diagrams, developer instructions, and more. I also learned to test technologies before documenting them using Postman, Visual Studio Code, and GitHub, while expanding my coding skills in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

At Bodeswell, I led Client Success and created the entire documentation site, collaborated with AMEX lawyers during the acquisition, and presented bi-weekly reports to AMEX corporate. I automated data reporting scripts and analyzed product metrics, usage, and adoption.

At Wizeline, I worked on a variety of highly technical projects, producing product requirements, technical specs, API docs, administrator guides, developer guides, DevOps guides, configuration guides, Gantt charts, and more. I also mentored other technical writers and earned additional certifications in Machine Learning using Python and Jupyter Notebooks, and in No-code AI & Machine Learning from MIT Professional Education.

In my current role at Beefree, I am the Lead Technical Writer for the Beefree SDK. I act as both a Docs Engineer and a Content Designer, owning the technical writing strategy and tech stack (GitBook, GitHub, VS Code, HotJar, Mixpanel, Google Analytics). I work closely with developers throughout the Shape Up Cycle to ensure technical accuracy for launches. I’ve participated in technical webinars showing my code live. I've published sample code in our GitHub, maintained OpenAPI spec files, created interactive API testing environments, monitored analytics, improved AI discoverability of our docs, and conducted competitive research to keep our content ecosystem ahead of the curve.

My documentation portfolio includes architecture diagrams (using diagrams-as-code), REST APIs, SDKs, configuration guides, DevOps guides, troubleshooting guides, and code examples that I personally edit and test to ensure accuracy and interactivity. My philosophy is simple: without documentation, a software product is incomplete. I approach docs not just as reference material but as an integral part of the product’s usability, adoption, and success.

I bring a unique blend of skills across IoT, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Docs-as-Code, Docs-as-Ecosystem, and technical communication. My ability to integrate business acumen, data analysis, and technical expertise enables me to deliver documentation strategies that drive adoption, reduce friction, and improve the developer and user experience. Every company I’ve worked with has valued my multi-perspective insights and the tangible impact I deliver.
